We`ve wrapped one of our attic bedrooms, sloping ceilings and all, in William Morris`s Snakeshead. It`s a pattern he designed in the 1870s, named after the snake`s head fritillary, a little wildflower that still pops up in the Thames meadows round here.
It seemed only right with Kelmscott Manor, Morris`s much-loved country home, just down the road from us. It`s the place he called "heaven on earth", and inspired so much of his work.

Eight new bedrooms have joined the @masonsarmsclanfield. Full of character dating back to the 17th century, cosy corners and just enough comfort to make heading home feel rather unnecessary.
What a night! We brought three of the UK’s most exciting fire cooks to the Cotswolds for a long-table feast of wood smoke, glowing coals, brilliant food, good drinks and even better company.
