The Double Red Duke has found a home at Bicester Village, bringing a touch of Cotswold character along with it. Thoughtful British design, seasonal cooking and plenty of charm – it’s the sort of place that feels easy from the moment you walk in.
Drop by for a long lunch, settle in for an early supper or simply claim a seat at the bar for a cocktail once the shopping bags start to feel heavy. We’re open from morning through to evening, and ready whenever you are.
There’s also a proper Afternoon Tea on offer, with house-made scones and cakes, neatly cut sandwiches and tea poured just as it ought to be.
Our kitchen is very much the centre of things. From bar snacks to proper puddings, we take the best of what’s in season and turn it into honest cooking – generous, comforting and made to be enjoyed.

Oli Brown, Ana Ortiz and Miller Prada are joining us in Clanfield on Saturday 12th September for an evening of flame-cooked food, live music, great drinks and some seriously special eating.
Drinks from 4.30pm, food from 6pm, with the @doubleredduke LandRover bar serving draught beers and classic cocktails throughout.

A little local inspiration… William Morris spent many years at nearby @kelmscottmanor, drawing inspiration from the gardens, orchards and natural landscape of this corner of the Cotswolds.
Those same influences can be found woven through many of his designs, including Owl & Willow, one of the wallpapers featuring in our eight new bedrooms @masonsarmsclanfield
So, we took a little trip down the road to Kelmscott to explore the landscape behind the pattern. Our new bedrooms open from 14th September 🌿

@georgie_pearman and the team headed to the beautiful Stonor Valley in Oxfordshire to meet the people behind some of the exceptional English sparkling wines we’re proud to pour across Country Creatures.

There’s plenty to discover beyond the @doubleredduke. Pick up one of our hand-drawn maps, pull on your walking boots and spend a day exploring the lanes, villages and river paths that surround us in Clanfield.
Follow the River Thames towards Kelmscott Manor, William Morris’s much-loved country retreat, wander through Kelmscott village, cross the historic Radcot Bridge, or simply follow the Thames Path and see where the day takes you.

As our eight new bedrooms at the @masonsarmsclanfield begin to take shape, there’s one name woven throughout their design: William Morris.
Just down the road from us in Clanfield lies Kelmscott Manor, Morris’s much-loved Cotswold retreat and a place he described as “Heaven on Earth”. His connection to this corner of the Cotswolds made his work a natural starting point for the bedrooms.
Designed by @georgie_pearman, the rooms bring @wmorrisandco iconic patterns into the character and history of our 16th-century pub, with wallpapers chosen throughout to give each space its own identity.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more from behind the designs, the patterns we’ve chosen and the stories that inspired them.
