The Village Grill with Richard Turner

Country Creatures are excited to announce that we will be celebrating the end of summer with a Village Grill at The Swan with Richard Turner, ex Hawksmoor Executive Head Chef, Owner Turner and George Butchers, Author Pitt Cue Co Cookbook.

There will be an abundance of  grilled, smoked and spiced food including slow grilled prime rib of beef with bone marrow nihari sauce, devilled monkfish skewer with tomato and curry leaf, spiced tomahawk lamb chops, smoked aubergine with mint pomegranate and cashew cream, the list goes on, including an array of flatbreads and sides. Full menu here.

From Friday 18th to Sunday 20th September at The Swan, Ascott-under-Wychwood.

With our extensive courtyard garden at The Swan we have the perfect summer backdrop for a day of delicious barbequed food from the best in the business.

Richard Turner is the author of two books: Hog, about pork; and Prime, about beef, and co-author of Pitt Cue Co. The Cookbook, Hawksmoor at Home and Hawksmoor Restaurants and Recipes. He now has a butchery company called Turner & George, and Meatopia, a live fire barbecue festival.

Richard has an unwavering passion for food, particularly cooked over live fire and the acclaimed dishes at his restaurants and festival showcase his love of simple, honest, smoke tinged meat cookery. Contrary to popular opinion, he is not adverse to the odd vegetable either.

From Friday 18th September and across the weekend until Sunday 2oth September. Adults £30 and children (under 16) £12.

Booking is essential and social distancing rules will be in place.
