We were treated to an incredible evening of South African inspired cooking at The Double Red Duke. Patrick Williams is Chef and Co-Founder, along with his wife Amy Corbin, of The Kudu Collective, a collection of restaurants, a bar and private dining space/gallery in South East London. Having worked at some of South Africa’s best restaurants before moving to the UK in 2018, Patrick’s skill for cooking over fire and use of spices earnt their flagship restaurant, Kudu, a Michelin Bib Gourmand in less than 6 months.
Patrick’s menu was full of mouth watering dishes like snacks that included Kudu Bread, Cape Malay Butter, Crispy Curry Leaves, Pickled Shallots and Kalahari Spiced Biltong. Moving onto the main which was a Dry Aged T-bone to die for with Black Garlic, Beer Pickled Shallots Crispy Beef Fat Fingerlings Potato Charred Baby Gem, Sesame, Medjool Dates.
