Dining FAQs

Make your experience extra special and book a seat at our Chef’s Counter, the best seat in the house – where guests can enjoy our menu that’s all about cooking over an open fire where everything is fuelled by local wood and charcoal. Expect large cuts of local meat and fish, expertly charred over bespoke rotisserie and wood-fired grill while watching the chefs in action.

Absolutely no dress code. Feel free to dress up if you like but don’t feel obliged. Whatever makes you comfortable so you can enjoy your experience.

We are happy to accept walk-in guests at any time, depending on availability. We strongly recommend making a prior reservation to avoid disappointment as availability can be very limited.

At the Double Red Duke we only accept card payments.

We kindly ask to be informed of any allergies we need to be aware of in advance of your visit. We always do our best to accommodate mild allergies but cannot guarantee that we work in a nut, dairy, gluten or allergen-free environment given the complexity of our menu. Our menu is mainly meat and fish lead however there are limited options available for vegetarians and vegans.

There is £30 corkage fee per bottle on wines or £60 for magnums; champagnes and sparkling wines are £60 per bottle or £120 per magnum. Please notify us prior to your dinner should you wish to bring own wines. This is only available at our restaurant or pub
and isn’t available for private events.

All tables outside are on first come first served basis due to the inclement British weather, however if you reserve table inside, this will give you priority for outside space upon arrival.

We do add a discretionary 12.5% service charge to your bill, this is split equally between our staff however should you prefer to tip on the day feel free to ask for service charge to be removed.

To reserve a table of more than 7 people, please contact us directly on [email protected]

There is some free on street parking in Clanfield village, you can also park at the back or front of the Mason’s Arms pub across the road from us. If there is no onsite parking available upon arrival, guests staying overnight are welcomed to pull in and unload their car first before moving vehicle on street.

Most dining areas are wheelchair accessible and we have a disabled bathroom on the ground floor. Please notify us in advance of any requirements. Our team are on hand to offer any assistance necessary.

For table reservations you are welcome to book online and note that you will be using a gift voucher toward your meal. Please make sure to present your voucher to our team upon arrival.

Yes, we are! We offer children’s menu with plenty of options. Please make us aware of your children’s ages at the time of booking.

Well behaved dogs on leads are welcomed in our cosy bar, where they can join you for a meal. Due to the close proximity of tables, we do not allow dogs in our dining rooms or Chef’s Counter. Next up in our Awaken the Maker series with @savannahmiller 🌸

On Tuesday 7th April (10am–4pm) we welcome two brilliant makers for a day rooted in craft, nature and creativity.

First, textile artist and art therapist @clareolearystudio will introduce the beautiful world of indigo dyeing and Japanese Shibori techniques. Folding, clamping, tying and binding vintage fabrics to create striking patterns using natural dyes. Clare has worked alongside contemporary artist Damien Hirst and is celebrated for her richly textured fabrics inspired by the natural landscape 🌿
