We are delighted to announce the launch of ‘Awaken the Maker’, a series of curated workshops with craft specialists and artists, to inspire, enrich and re-engage with nature. Savannah Miller, British fashion designer, has curated the lineup to offer guests the unique opportunity to learn from industry experts, and harness their inner creativity for a series to enrich and inspire.

We are also offering specially reduced rates for overnight stays before the workshops so grab a friend and make it a very special escape. Book in below.

On Tuesday 18th November Amy Fielding, Co-founder and Creative Director of Flower Pressing Studio, JamJar Edit, will be showing you the ins and outs of pressed floral design, and how to create narratives through nature. You will learn delicate skills, crafting beautiful pieces using the traditional art of pressing flowers and harnessing a deeper connection with our planet.

Kate Ridyard, is a renowned London-based calligrapher and teacher, specialising in bespoke illustrations. As the calligrapher for Petersham Nurseries, Kate is known for her ability to envision nature through her quill. Her ‘Copperplate Calligraphy’ workshop on Tuesday 9th December will guide you through the process of using a dip pen and ink, creating beautifully crafted Christmas gift tags to each take home, perfect for the upcoming festive period.

Molly Mahon, distinguished British printmaker and textile designer is known for her joyful vibrant prints. Join Molly on Tuesday 10th February where she will showcase the craft of block printing where you will bring your ideas to life by painting on cushion covers, creating beautiful handmade items for your home.

On Tuesday 17th March Matthew Rice – the renowned watercolour artist, designer and illustrator for Emma Bridgewater will teach you the basics of measuring, drawing and applying colour, before providing his wisdom of translating an idea onto paper. Matthew will bring flowers from his garden for guests to use as reference, for an afternoon celebrating the wonders and bounties of nature.

On Tuesday 7th April Clare O’Leary, textile artist and art therapist, who has worked alongside contemporary artist Damien Hirst and is acclaimed for her illustrious fabrics crafted using only natural dyes will introduce you to natural dyeing with Indigo and Japanese Shibori-inspired methods of folding, clamping, tying and binding; experimenting with patterns on vintage fabrics and a large canvas bag, with a strong focus on process, transformation and the natural landscape.

Following Clare’s workshop, join Ellea Whamond, Co-Founder of British botanical bath and bodycare brand, 100 Acres. Ellea will guide you through the steps to creating your very own botanical fragrance spray, using oils from herbs, flowers and fruits and bringing the scents of nature into your homes.
