Gather at the Duke

Any excuse for a gathering suits us just fine. Small groups, big celebrations, somewhere in between – our Feasting Room, Garden Room and Bar can all be set just right.

Whether it’s a meeting that deserves better than a boardroom or a lunch that turns into supper, we’ll take care of the details so you can settle in.

Private Hire

Parties, gatherings,
any excuse really.

We’re always glad of a reason to move the furniture and lay the table properly. From smaller gatherings to full-tilt celebrations, our Feasting Room, Garden Room and Bar can each be shaped to suit. If it’s a meeting that deserves better than a boardroom, or a lunch with every chance of rolling into dinner, we’ll handle the details while you settle in and enjoy it.

Meetings

make that business meeting just that little bit more fun

If you’re ready to swap the swivel chair for something sturdier, our spaces lend themselves well to conversations that matter. Gather the team, host the clients and spread papers across a proper table. And when the plans are bigger, a launch, a networking evening, something you’ve been quietly building towards, there’s room to do it well, with good food and something decent in your glass.

Feastings & Parties

We mean feast

Whether it’s the usual suspects for supper or a birthday that crept up faster than expected, we know how to host a proper gathering. The table will be dressed, the drinks poured and the kitchen firmly in its stride. All you need to do is arrive and take the credit.

Weddings

Bespoke, exclusive weddings

If you’re planning a wedding that favours warmth over spectacle, the countryside does it beautifully. A charming church sits just a short stroll away, the bar will be well stocked and the kitchen ready for the long haul. By the time pudding arrives, everyone will be exactly where they ought to be.

We’re delighted to welcome the legendary Rowley Leigh as the first guest in our 2026 #CountryCreatures Chef Series @doubleredduke on Wednesday 17th June.

A towering figure in British hospitality, Rowley’s remarkable career has taken him from Le Gavroche and Le Poulbot with the Roux brothers, to founding the iconic Kensington Place, a restaurant that helped define London dining in the 1990s. He later opened Le Café Anglais, where his signature style combined the best of British cooking with the spirit of a Parisian brasserie.

For one night only, expect a menu that celebrates the finest seasonal British produce, shaped by French technique and subtle Italian influences.

AWAKEN THE MAKER — June 9th 🌿

We’re delighted to welcome ceramicist Sophie Learmont of @starlingpots to the Double Red Duke for the next gathering in our craft series, Awaken the Maker.

With a background in architecture and design, Sophie draws inspiration from the natural world to create beautifully tactile ceramics with organic textures and earthy palettes. During this hands-on workshop, guests will design and hand-build their own ceramic platter using Staffordshire stoneware clay, experimenting with natural grasses, pigments and glazes to create a one-of-a-kind piece for home.

After the workshop, settle in for a seasonal 3-course lunch included with your ticket. Why not make a proper escape of it? Bring a friend and stay the night before with our specially reduced room rates.

Slow down, make something beautiful, and awaken your inner maker. Book via link in our bio 📝
